This memorial website was created in memory of our beloved Teressa Rowell, who was born in Tennessee on 20 September 1957 and passed away at her home in Encino, California on 22 September 2009 at the age of 52. We will remember her big smile, infectious laugh and love for life....forever and always.
Teressa was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where she will also be laid to rest. She moved with her parents to Lenoir City, Tennessee when she was in junior high school and graduated from Lenoir City High School. She was a member of the Lenoir City High School Band as part of the rifle squad...or as she would say it, "Girls with Guns."
Upon her graduation from high school, Teressa embarked upon the adventure that became her life. She began in Nashville, Tennessee; however, she quickly became a modern-day renaissance woman of the world. In her short life, she called New York, London, and Los Angeles home. But she traveled the world, seeing Australia and Paris, just to name a few, during her brief stay with us. Those she called true friends were both human and canine, famous and unknown.
We remember her as the girl who dated Gene Simmons briefly, after meeting him while waitressing in Nashville. We also remember her as the woman who walked on Abbey Road with Tommy Boyce, who was not only the talent who wrote for himself and the Monkees in the early 1960's but also loved her completely for the time they were together. She was also lifelong friends with the Oak Ridge Boys and so many countless artists in her career in music licensing and publishing.
However, those of us who knew her best knew that it was never about how famous you were, but always about the content of your character. Jon Crank, the love of her life and best friend, could have attested to that. She loved him completely in every emotional sense of the word. It is with heavy heart that we wish them both well in the hereafter where they will spend eternity together with their beloved dogs...King Kong and Sok.
For those of you who loved her...please post every cherished memory you can recall...because we know there are many.
P.S. As a special tribute to Teressa, her lifelong friend, Rusty Golden, wrote a special song in her honor entitled "Dash in the Middle." We are so pleased to have this special contribution to her memory added as the background music to this site. Enjoy!
